Welcome to the hockey season 2008/09!
The new season finds S&S once again fielding 5 men's and 4 ladies teams. The men's 1s drop back down to div 2S of the NE14 East league, with our 2s, 3s and 4s in divs 4, 7 and 9SW. The Men's vets will be looking to go one better in the East League Veterans division after finishing as runners up. The Ladies 1s will be looking to build on a solid season in the premier division of the Five Counties League, with our 2s, 3s and 4s remaining in divisions 1, 3 and 5 respectively. This year we've also got teams entered in 3 cups.
Hockey training takes place at Sandy Upper School Astro Pitch on Tuesdays from 7.30-9pm, starting 2nd September. We have a couple of new coaches coming, so please come along and make the most of this opportunity.
The Club also has an active and thriving Juniors section. Many progress into playing for the senior teams. There is dedicated training on Tuesdays from 6.30-7.30pm at Sandy Upper School Astro Pitch starting on the 9th September. For 08/09 match fees remain £8 for seniors, £4 for juniors / fulltime students. Membership fees remain at £90 for seniors and £40 for juniors / fulltime students and we remain one of the cheapest Clubs in the area.
