Match report
14/11/2009 - M3 vs ST ALBANS CITIZANS
Horrible day, horrible result, Shefford & Sandy were throughly outplayed & outclassed by a rampant St Albans Citizens. From the off the Citizens attacked the makeshift S & S defence and but for an inspired Adam Symons in goal, they would have struck a long time before they did. When they did strike it was at a time when S & S were finally putting the Citizens under pressure. Once one goal was scored like a dose of salts St albans went through S & S again & again.
There were some good points during the game for S & S, Rob Plummer in only his second game worked hard & youngsters Luke Bridger & George Tipper by turns showed flashes of skill & inspiration. After three in the first half the Citizens ran in five more in the second. Their sixth goal being the pick & one of the best team goals this correspondent has seen at this level of hockey. S & S saved their best hockey until the last twelve minutes, Bridger & Max King going close before Veteran Pete Seward had a moment of supreme inspiration beating a couple of defenders before despatching the ball into the bottom left hand corner of the goal
